The Azerbaijani National Committee and the Azerbaijani Carpet & Popular Applied Art Museum is going to hold an event concerning national traditions of Azerbaijan. The event includes the. Children's program: "Colour yourself" - colouring carpet patterns in a sketch-book or wooden spoons or clay caps. "Try and find it" - drawn patterns are to be found out in carpets displayed at the Museum.

Barbados
Barbadians and visitors can view the ICOM Barbados exhibition From the Antique to the Contemporary: Barbados Furniture 1680-2009 through to 30th May at Lancaster House, St. James. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Also on is the National Art Gallery Committee's exhibition A Conversation between 'Home Drums Beat First' and 'De Bottom Bound to Drop Out' at Queen's Park & Zemicon Gallery through to May 31, 2009. On Tuesday, May 19, a CD of the exhibition will be launched at the Queen's Park Gallery.
On Saturday, May 23, both the Barbados Museum and George Washington House will throw their doors open for everyone to enjoy free entry from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. respectively. At the Barbados Museum, the day will feature fun activities for the entire family and a Garrison Historic Area walking tour. A flyer is attached with details. Patrons will be well entertained with performances by folk dancers, folk characters called Shaggy Bears, tuk bands and the Barbados Landship.

Contreras.  As a special part of the day, muralist Dan Doy Nugyen and our education division staff will be leading visitors to each create a small piece of artwork that Dan will then take and combine into a permanent mural installation of his creation here in our new Point of View gallery.  POV will feature the stories of 8 people who have lived life in our county, allowing us to not only learn more about their life experiences, but to learn more about the general history of our region in the context of their personal stories.
