ICOM Staff Orientating members during ICOM Rio 2013

The ICOM General Secretariat contributes to the implementation of the strategic plan and carries out decisions taken by the Executive Council. It develops programmes that protect cultural goods and promote ethical standards for the benefit of the international museum community.

It also provides support to ICOM National and International Committees and to the 30,000 members of the organisation through a wide range of services. For more information on the services provided by ICOM General Secretariat, please visit the member benefits page.

The ICOM General Secretariat is an international team (composed of more than 10 different nationalities) including approximately 20 permanent staff members. They work from the ICOM office in Paris, France.
