The Blue Shield meets in Paris

On March 7, 2013, the Blue Shield met in Paris to discuss the protection of heritage in emergency situations, the current developments seriously threatening cultural goods in Syria and Mali and the way they were addressed by the Blue Shield and its associated organisations (ICA, ICOM, ICOMOS, IFLA and CCAAA).

Representatives of ICBS and ANCBS gathered in ICOM premises in Paris

The representatives of the International Committee of the Blue Shield (ICBS) and of the Association of National Committees of the Blue Shield (ANCBS) also took this opportunity to confirm the establishment of new Blue Shield national Committees in Curacao, Denmark, Ireland, Romania and the United Kingdom. Committees are also under construction in many other countries around the world.

The Blue Shield representatives from Australia, Austria, France, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States who attended this meeting also discussed the formal operating of the association, as well as the progress in strategies and practices to implement regarding the protection of cultural heritage in a situation of emergency.
