The new website of the International Council of Museums went live on 21 September, 2010.
The world museum community now has access to a trilingual website, in English, French and Spanish.
The launch of the new website, which offers quick and easy access to essential information on ICOM and the international museum community, is part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and availability of information to members and museums professionals worldwide.
The website boasts a modern, colourful design and is divided into three sections: who we are, what we do, where we work. Each page provides detailed information on all three aspects of the organisation’s functioning.
The website offers two special features: a database of 2,000 publications from ICOM and its Committees, and an ICOM Red List search engine. The website’s user-friendly nature provides users with more efficient access to the organisation’s resources.
Other new functions include a video and photo gallery, access to the ICOM National Committees via Google map and the possibility to download extracts of ICOM News, the magazine of the international museum community.
