Hundred Missing Objects / 100 objets disparus |

| This
collection presents a selection of objects that have
been stolen from public collections or looted from archaeological
sites. Excerpts from the laws of the countries concerned
are also given to remind readers of the illicit nature
of any export of these objects. The publications also
serve to make known the institutions which alongside
ICOM take action and put in place instruments to prevent
and fight against illicit traffic in cultural property.
The rich illustrations of the book are not only a means
of control but also help to raise awareness and inform
the public. |
Cette
collection présente une sélection d'objets
volés dans des collections publiques ou pillés
sur des sites archéologiques. Des extraits des
lois des pays concernés sont présentés
afin de rappeler le caractère illicite de leur
exportation. Elle contribue également à
faire connaître les institutions qui, avec l'ICOM,
agissent et mettent en place des instruments pour la
prévention et la lutte contre le trafic illicite
des biens culturels. La richesse des illustrations fait
de ces documents des outils de contrôle, mais
aussi de sensibilisation et d'information. |
