UNESCO-ICOM Museum Information Centre

The UNESCO-ICOM Information Centre was created in 1946. It is managed by ICOM Secretariat and it is situated in the UNESCO Building, 1 rue Miollis -F- 75732 Paris Cedex 15 (France).

 

 

 

The Collections situated at ICOM headquarters

ICOM and its Committees’ publications, ICOM’s archives, the International Museums Office (IMO), UNESCO publications related to the protection of cultural heritage; national legislations on the protection of cultural heritage; international, national and museum-related directories; illicit traffic-related publications and reports as well as endangered heritage and emergency contexts, photos and slides about ICOM are all situated at the UNESCO-ICOM Information Centre.

More than 3,000 references of these collections are presented in the ICOM website database.

Off-site Collections

Monographs, periodicals, museums catalogues are at the public disposal at the Documentation Centre of the Direction générale des patrimoines - Service des Musées de France and are available for consultation on the website
http://capadoce.ext.culture.fr/

The museum temporary exhibitions catalogues are available at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts library.

Access to the UNESCO-ICOM Information Centre

The UNESCO-ICOM Information Centre is accessible to ICOM members and UNESCO staff. We recommend you to make an appointment to consult these books in situ.
The UNESCO-ICOM Information Centre is open Monday to Thursday from 2pm to 5:30pm, contact
The Documentation Centre of the Direction générale des patrimoines - Service des Musées de France opens from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm by appointment.
