ICOM Secretariat and UNESCO-ICOM Museum Information Centre

The ICOM's Secretariat is housed in the UNESCO building in Paris. Under the direction of the Director General, the Secretariat is responsible for implementing the Executive Council's decisions. The Secretariat provides services to ICOM members. It co-ordinates the activities of committees, helps carry out its programmes, and organises meetings and assemblies for its directing bodies.

The UNESCO-ICOM Museum Information Cenre is administered by ICOM and housed within ICOM's offices at the UNESCO House. The centre's collections consist of the documentation concerning ICOM and its history, the publications of ICOM National and International Committees, Regional Alliances and Affiliated Organisations, as well as UNESCO publications related to the protection of cultural heritage. This documentation is updated, catalogued and indexed on a regular basis. The centre offers library and information services to ICOM members and UNESCO staff.
