CIMCIM promotes and organises professional activities related to collections and museums of musical instruments. Members participate in meetings and contribute to the publications of the following working groups: Communications, Conservation, Documentation, Education and Presentation, Traditional Instruments, Training, and the International Directory of Musical Instrument Collections. Members receive the CIMCIM Newsletter in which various studies and bibliographies are published.
