ICOM Executive Board Issues Statement for Peace

Following discussions at its 176th Session held in Paris, the ICOM Executive Board has issued a strong reaffirmation of its mission and values in light of current global events.
The statement underscores ICOM’s enduring commitment to preserving cultural heritage worldwide and uniting the global museum community. It emphasises the vital role museums play in fostering mutual understanding across cultures and borders.

Following the discussions at the 176th Session of the Executive Board that took place in Paris on 27 June 2025, in light of current global events:
The ICOM Executive Board reaffirms ICOM’s mission to preserve cultural heritage globally and unite the museum community. ICOM is deeply committed to empowering museums as a strong voice in fostering mutual understanding.
