The 20th issue of the International Journal of Intangible Heritage was published in June.
In the context of our partnership with the journal, we have chosen to share with you Bae Kidong’s article entitled « Intangible Heritage: ICOM Seoul 2004 & ICOM Dubai 2025 ». The author examines the evolution of the approach to intangible heritage and looks back at the 2004 General Conference in Seoul, which was dedicated to this topic and marked an important international milestone in promoting it. Intangible heritage is a theme that will also be the focus of the 2025 General Conference in Dubai in November, prompting the author to build a bridge between the two conferences, looking back on the nineteen years that separate them.
Registration for the ICOM Dubai 2025 General Conference is now open! We invite you to take part in this triennial international event and join the discussions on the future of museums.
We hope you enjoy reading this article and the other insightful contributions to Vol. 20 of the International Journal of Intangible Heritage.
The journal has launched a call for papers for its next issue. The deadline for submitting contributions is 30 September 2025.
