General Conferences The registrations for ICOM Prague 2022 are open

Registration has opened for the 2022 ICOM General Conference: the world’s biggest and most influential conference of museums and other heritage institutions.

The 26th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) will bring thousands of experts from around the world to Prague, in the Czech Republic, where they will set the course of the museum field for the coming years. From the 20th to 28th August, join the international museum community in ICOM Prague 2022 — both onsite and online!

With the theme The Power of Museums, ICOM Prague 2022 will focus on four main issues: economic and environmental sustainability; digitisation and new technologies; civil society and community building; leadership and management. Additionally, the General Conference will be the background of the debate and vote on a new museum definition.

For the first time in ICOM’s history, the General Conference will take place in a new hybrid format. Building on the spirit of innovation and resilience that has marked the community outreach programmes of museums around the world, a digital platform will provide participants from all over the world remote access to the scientific programme of ICOM Prague 2022.
