Digital and smart: Create and Run Communication Campaigns and Partnerships

During ICOM Kyoto 2019, ICOM members will have the opportunity to attend an exclusive communications workshop dedicated to the topic Create and Run Communication Campaigns and Partnerships.

We did a Q&A with the moderators, from the ICOM Communications team: Alexandra Fernández Coego, Communications Coordinator; Laetitia Conort, Digital Communications Officer; and Francesca Pollicini, Events Manager.

What is the aim of this activity?

The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with the basics and the tools needed to create and execute compelling digital communication campaigns and establish meaningful co-communications with partners. In most of our Committees, the digital communication is managed by one person at best. For this reason, the main focus of this workshop is to help you ‘communicate smart’ by achieving the highest impact while being the most time and cost efficient. We will present the main communication tools available to the ICOM Committees in terms of communication and share with you case studies of the successful co-communications partnerships we have established.

What are the objectives of the ICOM Communications department for the future?

ICOM is a global network that connects and supports museums and museum professionals. We exchange knowledge, and experience, transmit information, promote causes and goals. As the ICOM network expands, the challenges for establishing an efficient flow of information are greater. For the past two years we have worked to increase the support we provide to our Committees communication wise.  Our objective is to keep providing quality communication tools for our members –not only to facilitate this communication flow, but also for them to be independent and unleash their creativity while projecting our organisation’s values, image and missions to a greater public.
