Annual Meetings
The Annual Meetings represent a moment of inclusive and participatory dialogue among ICOM’s members and Governance to make decisions concerning the organisation’s future
Every year, Chairpersons of National and International Committees, Regional Alliances, Affiliated Organisations and members gather to attend the key moments of the organisation’s life: the General Assembly and the Advisory Council, in order to evaluate the actions conducted over the past year and define the road map of the coming year.
Furthermore, reports on the state of play of ICOM Standing Committees, Working Groups, and workshops, enable participants to deepen essential aspects of the association, relevant subjects for the global museum community. In addition, these reports explore new ideas to improve the structure of the organisation and further the development of the museum world.
This year 2024, ICOM representatives will have the opportunity to meet in the presence of MUCEM for:
- 30th Ordinary General Assembly: the session with the representation of the members and the decision-making body of ICOM. It fixes the Statutes, elects the members of the Executive Council and adopts the ICOM Strategic Plan.
- 96th session of the Advisory Council: The Advisory Council is the consultative body of ICOM. It is composed of the Presidents (or their representatives) of the National and International Committees, Regional Alliances and Affiliated Organisations. The Advisory Council advises the Executive Council and the General Assembly in the general interest of ICOM on matters relating to ICOM’s policies, programmes, procedures and finances.

Agora is ICOM’s online platform dedicated to Statutory Meetings and accessible to all Members via the Member Space. On the platform, you will be able to register and vote, consult documents related to the meetings, and replay the recordings of sessions.
