ConferenceCollaboration with UNESCO Almaty: Webinars for Museum professionals of Central Asia and Southern Caucasus

ICOM is proud to announce its collaboration with the UNESCO Almaty Office in developing a series of online capacity building webinars for all museum workers in Central Asia and the South Caucasus.

The webinars will be held in May and June 2021, in Russian or with simultaneous translation to Russian, and will be open to staff of all museums in the region, as well as to members of interested museum related organizations, NGOs and civil society.

In particular, the second and third webinars have been organized together by the UNESCO Almaty office and ICOM Secretariat. These two webinars will focus on textile conservation and paper conservation, respectively, and will be led by two members of ICOM-CC (ICOM International Committee for Conservation): Frances Lennard from the University of Glasgow and Andrea Pataki-Hundt from the Institute of Conservation Sciences at TH Köln. Another webinar on reaching the public through digital tools will be organized in June, with the participation of Annemies Broekgaarden from the Rijksmuseum.
