ICOM VoicesCall for papers : ICOM Voices: Human rights, social issues and ethics

ICOM Voices is an editorial space on the ICOM website that allows museum and heritage professionals and researchers to share their experiences and reflections.

Articles are published in open access on the ICOM website in our 3 official languages (English, French and Spanish) allowing a wide range of professionals to express their views in an accessible format.

In light of current conflicts, debates and global issues, what is the role of museums in society?  Can they promote human rights and encourage social change?

We are currently looking for submissions on the topics of Human rights, social issues and ethics. We welcome all topics related, but not limited to:

  • human rights
  • gender equality
  • diversity
  • accessibility and inclusion
  • sustainability
  • participation, engagement and activism

Calls for articles are ongoing, there is no deadline or limit of topics. If you would like to explore a topic unrelated to the above, do not hesitate to send a proposal.

Articles can be case studies, field reports, book reviews, exhibition or conference reviews, opinion pieces, etc.
